Bank Holiday Weekend – Whitby
Posted by on May 13, 2012
I’ve pretty much neglected my blog over the past few weeks – I’ve been really busy at work, and weekends have been equally as busy. Last weekend we spent 3 days in Whitby (got to love a Bank Holiday!) with family and friends. We stayed in a really beautiful house which overlooked the harbour and we definitely didn’t want to leave when it got to Monday!
{Cottage}
We spent a lot of time outside – walking around town and on the beach, as well as visiting Goathland (where they filmed Heartbeat) and Robin Hood’s Bay. The weather forecast was terrible for the whole weekend but it turned out pretty perfect. It was windy but the sun shone every day.
We ate fish and chips by the sea, bought some Lucky Ducks and had far too many delicious ice creams. I can’t wait to go back next May Day!
Royal Ascot

I’ve been to Royal Ascot once before and absolutely loved it, and I’m going again this year. Although I’m going to be in the Silver Ring where there isn’t a strict dress code, part of the fun is getting dressed up to enjoy a day at the races. Here are a few outfits on my radar at the moment that I think would work perfectly.
- Flared Dress, £60
- Lace Esme Dress, £85
- Balearic Printed Dress, £65
- Twinkle Lace Dress, £110
Bank Holiday Weekend – York

Another place that D and I have never visited (that we can remember!) is York. We took the drive over early on Saturday morning and used the park and ride to get into the city centre. I wrapped up warm, but obviously not warm enough, because it was freezing! Luckily it warmed up throughout the day.
We ruled out doing any ‘attractions’ so wandered around the city centre, did a Tower Tour at York Minster and had a lovely walk along the city walls. York is such a beautiful city that I’d definitely go back to.
